I specialize in sports injuries, arthroscopic and reconstructive knee, hip and shoulder surgery. After completing High Specialty Arthroscopy training; I trained in Madrid Spain with world class experience in the latest arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgical techniques, cartilage transplantation including joint replacement.
What made you join IODA?
I saw a very diverse and inclusive community, this model of society that will lead the world for years to come.
How have you approached DEI in your workplace?
In a cosmopolitan city like Mexico City, we find ourselves with diversity more and more and we must be prepared to respond to concerns in all areas.
How do you define inclusion?
Inclusion refers to the action of equitably integrating all people, regardless of their differences, in various fields such as society, education and work. It seeks to eliminate barriers and prejudices, encouraging active participation and mutual respect. It involves recognizing and valuing diversity in terms of gender, race, sexual orientation, disability and more, creating an environment where everyone can contribute and benefit equally. Inclusion promotes equal opportunities and a sense of belonging, building fairer and more cohesive societies in which each individual can develop their full potential.
What is your proudest achievement?
I have explored various social strata in my medical career, gaining valuable experiences and knowledge about health and our community. These journeys have enriched me with unique perspectives, highlighting the interconnectedness between medicine and society. Each layer has provided crucial lessons that influence my medical approach in understanding the needs and challenges of different groups. This journey has empowered me to provide comprehensive care, sensitive to diversity and social realities. My journey through these strata has cemented my commitment to inclusive medicine and the positive impact on community health.
